'BENDIGO BANK' PARENT UMPIRE OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS

The 'Bendigo Bank' Parent Umpire of the Year Nominations have been opened for 2011!

Following the completion of three Parent Umpire Courses run in 2011 and also a mid-year inservice, the West Perth Football District are happy to announce that we have had a record number of 96 participants enroll in the program and umpiring on given weekends.

Following on from it's success in 2010, the 'Bendigo Bank' Parent Umpire of the Year Award aims to recognise dedicaytion and excellence in our large field of Parent Umpires for 2011.

Outlined below are the conditions of nomination and selection criteria involved with this process. All Clubs are encouraged to nominate at least one Parent Umpire from each of the age groups (Year 4 and Year 5), but are welcome to nominate more than one.

Conditions of Nomination

1) Nominees must be an accredited Parent Umpire in the 2011 Season
2) Applications close Monday 20th June 2011 (no late applications will be accepted)
3) All nominations are asked to address the selection criteria outlined below (not all criteria needs to be addressed). The addressed selection criteria are to be attached to the nomination form.
4) An assessment may be carried out on all Parent Umpire of the Year Nominees after the application closing date by members of the JCC Executive or selected representatives to help determine the Parent Umpire of the Year.
5) Nominations must be accompanied by a minimum of one (preferably two) photographs of the nominee, preferably in electronic format. If hard copy photographs are to be returned, provide an address on the reverse side.
6) The West Perth Junior Competition Committee reserves the right to nominate candidates.
7) All nominations must be accompanied using the official nomination form.

 Award Selection Criteria:

1) Outstanding achievements as a Parent Umpire
2) Knowledge of the Year 4 & Year 5 Rules
3) Umpiring Skills (you may wish to comment on the list below)
       a) Communication
       b) Positioning
       c) Cooperation with other Parent Umpires
       d) Paperwork
       e) Commitment to the role of Parent Umpire
       f) Length of service as a Parent Umpire
