The last fortnight has brought some exciting experiences for the coaches of the Northern Conference. There were two AFL WCE Master Classes Held within our conference.

Gain Bell presented at West Perth FC on the “Why” of coaching and how you can discover your “Why” to help improve your coaching experience for not only yourself but the kids you are coaching.

Nathan an Berlo and Daniel Pratt presented at Subiaco FC on Game Day coaching and the importance of developing fundamentals at training to improve game day experience for players.

Swanbourne JFC hosted a session on ‘Developing Fundamentals’, Wembley Downs Hosted a session on “Training Ugly/Effective Training Sessions’ and Kingsley Hosted a session on ‘Kicking’. In the coming weeks we have an AFL Master Class with Michael Prior and Roger Hayden at FFC in Cockburn. Mosman Park JFC are hosting a session on ‘Coaching Youth Football’ and Stirling JFC are hosting a session on ‘Game Day Coaching’. If you are interested in these sessions or any other sessions we have coming up, log into your coach.afl profile and have a look at the sessions we have on offer.

The time has come for all coaches to ensure that they are accredited and able to be selected on team sheets, the option for “no official” has been removed so we need to ensure that all coaches have their accreditation up to date and they are registered on Coach.afl. A friendly reminder to also ensure that you are the head coach on game day you must be selected on the team sheet and the max of two assistants in the box must also be listed on the team sheet and accredited. If you or a coach you know is having trouble, please don’t hesitate to contact Wes Moran, Metro North Coach Coordinator on wmoran@wafc.com.au.
